Family bushcraft and survival skills overnight camp
15th April 2018 @ 10:00 am - 16th April 2018 @ 2:30 pm
£60.00 – £100.00
Ages: 8 and over accompanied by an adult. Price: £100 per adult £60 per child
Spend 2 days and 1 night surviving as a family in the woods. On the morning of day 1 you will learn how to start a fire in many different ways and then you will cook popcorn and roast marshmallows over the fire you have built. In the afternoon, and as a family, you will make a shelter using the materials gathered in the woods or build a shelter using man made materials, a lesson in knots and lashings is included and you have the opportunity to spend the night in your shelter if you wish (or you can cheat and bring a tent!). After a fire cooked woodland meal there is the option of participating in some friendly competition…namely axe, knive and spear throwing…or you can just enjoy your families company by your shelters.
After a full English breakfast we will spend the morning learning safe carving techniques so you can make a bow, an Atlatl, a spoon or some other useful item for you to take home with you. The afternoon will include identifying animal tracks and signs and foraging for wild food and medicinal plants. All that is left is to pack up and say our goodbyes with lots of wonderful memories to take home with you.
